Christmas At Our House...

Only 4 days to go till Christmas!!

I can't believe it!!!

It's exciting yet scary at the same time!

I can't post much right now, but I thought it would be neat to post our family traditions we do each Christmas.

Here we go....

Every year on Dec 1’st, we each get a chocolate calendar and that is one thing that makes the wait till Christmas go by much faster!

Around Dec 8'th we will usually get the Christmas Tree.

Usually before because we like to have it for my twin sisters birthday, which is Dec 8‘th. We‘ll try to keep it up till my other sis‘s birthday, which is Jan 11‘th.

We go out to a tree lot about 45 mins from our house and pick out the perfect Christmas tree.

Then we cut it down and take it home.

We set it up and give it about 24 hrs or so for the branches to fall, then we decorate it.

With Christmas shopping, sometimes we start as early as October, depending on what we see that we know a certain someone will love.

Christmas shopping is my favourite part of Christmas.

The Christmas decorations everywhere, the Christmas music.

What I don't like is the pushy people trying to get everything done with as fast as possible then go home.

I prefer to take my time and think about what I am buying and who it is for.

Every Christmas, One thing I want the most is snow. Where we live, it has only ever snowed 8 times since 1948!!!

Only once has it snowed in the 10 years we’ve lived here, and that was 6 years ago!!
But Finally, this year, we’ll have a white Christmas!!!!

It has been snowing on and off since last Friday and we have gotten as much as 2 feet, maybe more!
Unfortunately, it has gotten down to -20 at night so the horses water buckets are frozen solid in the morning, but one BIG bucket of hot water fix’s that!
I’m just so glad we’ll finally have a white Christmas!!
The last one was when I was 11!!!

Sometimes about 1 or 2 weeks from Christmas, we’ll get a Gingerbread house and decorate it then set it aside till after Christmas.

My fav Christmas treats are Candy Canes and Whoppers!!! YUMM!!!
I’m the only one in my family who hates Egg Nogg!! I prefer Hot Cocoa with lots of Whip Cream!!

Sometimes on Christmas eve, we’ll each open 1 gift, but I don’t like to do that cause it means 1 more gift I can open on Christmas.

Then we g to bed, usually around midnight or later, lol, then we are all up at about 8-9 the next morning. Me and my bro feed the horses and we all eat breakfast then begin opening gifts.

It takes us about 2-3 hours to open all the gifts since we take turns going around, youngest to oldest.

We are finished by about lunch time, then we spend the rest of the day playing/creating our new gifts.

Around 5 pm we then all gather around the table for a big Turkey dinner.

My fav part of the dinner is the stuffing, YUM!!!

We don’t go to bed till about midnight again and then we wake up the next day and the countdown to next Christmas begins!
So, what is your Christmas tradition?
