I'll start out my post by saying, YAY!
I've managed to keep at this for several days (missing the ocasionaly day) and I love it.
Back to today's post..
Another HOT HOT HOT day here.
We auctualy had to instal our air conditioner yesterday it has been so hot.
Earlier today, when I had fed the horses their snack, I sat down on the hay (AGAIN!! LOL) And watched Mina and Lacey eat.
About 20 mins later, Lacey walks over to me then suddenly lay's down righ next to me and lay's her head on my lap, SUCK!!
LOL
I stroked her neck and she nickered quietly.
She is such a sweat heart!
I also want to post a list for myself, of everything that I've acomplished in my 16 years of life, lol
I feel like I have not gotten anywhere in life, so this list should help me realize that I have done plenty (maybe)
So here we go.
1: I'm a certafied Babysitter
2: I've tamed and broken a wild horse
3: I took a university course online and am now certafied in Post Natal Care of newborn foals.
4: I've come in first runner up in a national poetry contest
5: I've had a job at a fruit and veggie farm
6: I cut for my mom and make VERY decent pay
7: I've won second place in a homeschool poetry contest 5 years ago
8: I've taken synchronized swimming lessons
Ok, that's it.
It does not seem like much to me, but I don't know. LOL
oh, I've finished writting my little story to send into the online horse store contest.
Here it is, tell me what you think.
*Second Chances*
It was a hot sunny day when I first met her in the summer of 2007. I have to admit that she was not the prettiest horse I’d ever seen. Her hair was matted, her hooves were very overgrown and almost every bone in her body was slightly visible because she was so thin. None of that mattered, I was just glad to finally be getting a horse of my own! She had been feral and saved from slaughter. I knew it would take time to teach her to trust humans but it just felt right. She would be mine.
Just one short year later, her coat shines like black silk, her hooves are perfectly trimmed and she is very healthy. She surprised me with the most amazing gift. A small black filly with a white star born just 8 months after we first met. Together, my mare and I have gone though some rough patches. No matter what happens though, we’ll always be there for one another. My mare and I share a bond unlike any other.
I ride her almost daily and we enjoy every second of each day that we spend together. It fills my heart to look into her eyes, once full of fear, now overflowing with gratitude, love and joy. It brings tears to my eyes when I think of how we might have never met! I am just so proud to know that I have given both her and her filly a second chance at a new and better life.
Well, enough for today. LOL
P.S. Tomorrow I'll randomly tag one of my blog readers
